Pacific Ocean (March 23, 2006) -- The Guided-missile destroyer The USS Stethem (DDG 63) sail in formation with the Nimitz-class aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln (CVN 72) and Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force (JMSDF) ships during a passing exercise (PASSEX). Lincoln spent three days conducting exercises with JMDSF and took part in an officer exchange program as part of a passing exercise.
