Description:
The AS-2811/SRC antenna is an omnidirectional broadband
vertical biconical dipole. All major components of the
radiating and support structures are aluminum. The central
feed section is protected and weatherproofed by a laminated
fiberglass cover. The AS-2811/SRC may be used with any
VHF/UHF transmitting and/or receiving equipment designed to
operate within its frequency range and power handling
limitations.
Installation: The antenna assembly mounting
flange has eight holes for 3/8 inch bolts on a 4 - 3/4 inch
diameter bolt circle. The overall diameter of the mounting
flange is 5 - 3/4 inches. The antenna may be installed on a
suitable mounting plate having matching bolt holes. The
mounting plate must have a center hole to accommodate the
antenna transmission line.
Considerations: The location of the AS-2811/SRC
should be selected to provide maximum omnidirectional
coverage within the physical constraints of the ship's
structure. Propagation within the frequency range of this
antenna is generally line-of-sight; therefore, antennas
thalt are masked by surrounding structures may produce
limited coverage in azimuth and/or elevation. |
