Description:
The AS-2814/SRC is a broadband unidirectional log periodic
dipole array. The antenna consists of a main boom and eight
radiating elements. It may be installed for operation with
either vertically or horizontally polarized signals. The
AS-2814/SRC may be used with any VHF transmitting and/or
receiving equipment capable of operating within its
frequency range and RF power handling capabilities.
Installation: The antenna is supplied with a
mounting flange for installation onboard ship. This aluminum
flange is 6 - 1/2 inches x 6 - 1/2 inches with twelve holes
for 3/8 inch bolts equally spaced on a 5 - 1/2 inch x 5 -
1/2 inch square pattern. vinyl jacketed mylar rope is
supplied for installation between the flexible radiating
elements to reduce vibrations.
Considerations: The location of the antenna
should be selected to provide maximum omnidirectional
coverage within the physical constraints of the ship's
structure. Two AS-2814/SRC antennas are used with the
AS-2813/SRC Antenna Assembly. The antennas are installed on
opposite sides of the ship to obtain maximum unidirectional
coverage. |
