Description:
The AS-2866/SRR is an omnidirectional inverted cone HF
communications receiving antenna. This antenna was designed
for installation atop five-inch gun turrets. The antenna
elements are manufactured from aluminum and are supported by
a sealed fiberglass base. The antenna may be used with any
receiving system operating within its frequency range.
Installation: The antenna base mounting flange
has eight 11/16 inch bolt holes equally spaced on a 24 inch
diameter bolt circle for mounting the antenna. A foundation
with matching bolt holes, made to suit the configuration of
the turret top so that the antenna mounting flange is level,
must be provided by the installing activity. The turret top
must be penetrated to accommodate the coaxial transmission
line.
Considerations: The coaxial cable transmission
must have sufficient slack and arranged in such a manner
that it will not be damaged by turret rotation. |
