Description:
Antenna AS-2874/SRC is a rotatable log periodic antenna for
use onboard ship. The antenna consists of a main boom, ten
elements, and a matching section. The antenna is supported
on an AB-1199/SRC stub mast and an AB-1200/SRC Antenna
Pedestal. Control of the antenna azimuth is accomplished
from a C-9264/SRC Antenna Control. These four units comprise
the OE-155/SRC Antenna Group. The pedestal contains the
antenna drive motor, antenna azimuth synchro generator, and
rotary joint.
Installation: The base of the pedestal casting
has three mounting pads 1200 apart for installing the
antenna. Each pad has one 1 - 1/16 inch bolt hole for a
one-inch bolt and two 25/32 inch bolt holes for 3/4 inch
bolts. The bolt holes are on a 33-inch diameter bolt circle.
A minimum swing circle of 60 feet is required to permit 3600
azimuth coverage. The antenna pedestal bench mark must be
aligned with ship's centerline, heading forward. The
transmission line, pedestal, stub mast and antenna feed
section may be pressurized with dry air or nitrogen to 5
PSI.
Considerations: This antenna is designed for
use on LHA, LCC, and similar types of ships having
sufficient space to support installation requirements. It
should be located as high and in as an area as possible. It
should not be located in the proximity of communications
receiving antennas. |
