Description:
The AS-1750A/SL is a broad beam fixed antenna used with
electronics countermeasures equipment. Two antennas are used
with each system, one for receiving and one for
transmitting. The antenna consists of a base, conical horn,
radome, and heater. A waveguide coupling and electrical
connector are located at the rear of the antenna. Two
AS-1750A/SL and one AS-1751A/SLA-12 antennas comprise the
antenna portion of theAN/SLA-12A(U) Antenna Group.
Installation: The mounting flange has four
23/32 inch bolt holes on 9 inch vertical and 14 inch
horizontal centers for use in mounting the antenna. The
AS-1750A/SL antennas are mounted above and below the
AS-1751A/SLA-12 trainable antenna, as far outboard as
possible to obtain maximum unobstructed coverage. Generally,
the three antennas are mounted on a common vertical
structure. The area in the vicinity of the antennas should
be clear of reflecting surfaces. In some instances microwave
absorbent material has been installed on the mounting
structure to reduce reflections.
Considerations: The antenna and its associated
wave guide require pressurization, not to exceed 2 psig,
from a source of dry air. The length of waveguide from the
antenna to the transmitting and receiving equipment must not
exceed 25 feet. |
