Description:
The AS-2918/S Antenna is used with Instantaneous Frequency
Measuring Receiving System AN/WLR-11. The antenna consists
of an omnidirectional element located in a fiberglass
radome. The radome is mounted on an enclosure that contains
two sets of RF filters and preamplifiers. The filters divide
the frequency range of the antenna into a high and low band.
The preamplifiers are used to amplify the output of their
respective filters for transmission to the R-1814/ WLR-11
Radio Frequency Unit. A power supply for operation of the
preamplifiers is also located within this enclosure.
Installation: The enclosure is fitted with two
mounting brackets, each with three 1/4 inch bolt holes on 6
inch centers. The uniit should be mounted vertically as high
as possible and in a clear area providing maximum
omnidirectional coverage. It should not be located in high
power radar or communications transmitting fields.
Considerations: The enclosure has front access
for adjustment and maintenance. The unit should be located
in an area where it can be adequately maintained. |
