Description:
The AS-1075/SRN-6 antenna is a unit of the OA-1801/SRN-6
Antenna Group. The antenna group consists of the antenna,
antenna pedestal, radome, and control amplifier. The
AS-1075/SRN-6 antenna and AB-636/SRN-6 pedestal assembly
include a fiberglass outer radome which encloses the antenna
and pedestal. The antenna central array, spin motor,
rotating assembly, and bearing reference servo assembly are
mounted as a unit on a single base in the pedestal. This
base is main tained in a horizontal plane by the roll servo
system. Roll correction is limited to 250 by mechanical
stops on the pedestal base.
Installation: The antenna assembly (antenna,
pedestal, and radome) should be placed as high as possible
and must be above objects in the immediate vicinity. Objects
within 15 feet or less should not be higher than the lower
edge of the pedestal for optimum TACAN performance. The
installing activity must supply a base plate on which to
mount the pedestal. The "N" and"S" marks
on the pedestal must be lined up parallel to the ship's
centerline to an accuracy of 0.1 degree, with the "N"
mark facing forward. This system requires an input from the
ship's stable element to provide roll information for
antenna stabilization.
Considerations: The cable lengths between the
antenna and almplifier group must not exceed 200 feet. |
