- Description: A
Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86
cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned:
Azure (Cobalt Blue), a saltire Or, overall a dragon
rampant Vert breathing flames Proper. Across the bottom
is a Dark Blue scroll doubled and inscribed with "STABILIS
VICTORIA" in Gold letters.
- Symbolism:
Cobalt blue and golden yellow are the colors associated
with the Army Chemical Corps. The saltire symbolizes
strength. During the Civil War, Kentucky was home to
courageous soldiers that fought for both the Union and
Confederate armies. The saltire, adapted from the
Confederate Flag, and the dark blue color, which
represents Union blue, commemorate the fighting spirit
of these Civil War soldiers. The dragon, a fearsome and
legendary creature, refers to the Regimental Chemical
Corps' coat of arms. It is breathing fire to highlight
the fire and destruction of chemical warfare.

distinctive unit insignia was approved on 15 August
2002.
