overall, edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) gold border,
with scarlet flames issuing from base throughout,
surmounted by a black arrowhead charged with the numeral
"3" in gold.
- Symbolism: The
hexagon, suggesting crystalline formation, represents
chemistry. The flames and the colors scarlet and purple
allude to the mission of the chemical brigade. The
arrowhead denotes willingness to attack and defend; its
triangular form symbolizes the unit's designation.
- Background: The
shoulder sleeve insignia was approved on 19 November
2002. It was amended to change the background color on
29 November 2002.
